FAQ
What you should know
Creating
Do I need to know math?
No. Mandelcloud gives you visual controls for shape, camera, light, surface, and color. Fractal knowledge helps, but it is not required.
Does it run in the browser?
Yes. Cockpit renders locally through WebGPU and WGSL. We recommend a current Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop with graphics acceleration enabled; mobile and tablet support is currently more limited. See the full FAQ for device details.
Can I bring old MB3D scenes?
Yes. Many .m3p scenes can open as a starting point. Mandelcloud clearly points out when a shape or setting may differ. Pixel-identical rendering is not always possible.
Saving and sharing
Who can see my scenes?
Your private Diary archive stays private. When you publish, you choose whether people can see only the image or the full scene.
What does remix mean?
If you share a scene, someone else can open it as a starting point and make a new work from it. Mandelcloud keeps its origin and credit visible automatically.
Can I publish only the image?
Yes. You can publish a finished image without sharing the scene for remixing.
How do I see a work at full resolution?
The community shows fast preview and detail images. If the scene is shared, use Remix to open it in Cockpit and export it locally at your preferred supported resolution. Members on the Pro plan can also offer a 4K download up to 4096 px and 8 MB.

Do I need a credit card right away?
No. You can start free and move to a paid plan later.
What changes on paid plans?
The Free plan provides local stills at device-supported resolution, animation playback, and social video up to 720p/30 and 12 seconds without sound. The Starter plan adds animation with saved views, 1080p/30 with sound, transparency images, cloud Diary, publishing, profile media, 2 GiB of storage, work detail up to 1280px, and Coffee & Caramel. The Pro plan adds precise keyframes and automation, 4K, higher frame rates, image sequences, depth and surface-direction images, up to eight shape and material areas, 20 GiB of storage, work detail up to 1920px, an optional 4K visitor download, and Sci-Fi.
Can I change later?
Yes. You can manage plan changes and invoices from your account once you choose a paid plan.

Many compatible .m3p scenes can open and render. Import focuses on shapes; lighting, materials, and details may differ from the source scene.
